Industrial Torque Converter Types Explained

Industrial Torque Converters Explained

Fitz Equipment Co. offers many services and parts concerning both National, Allison, and other Industrial Torque Converter Types, as well as maintenance, and industrial torque converter repair for onsite field service, onsite troubleshooting, technical support, and 24-hour on-call repair. Our services are all from qualified mechanics who have spent years in practice to ensure that if you ever have a problem, once it is brought to their attention, they intend to fix it the first time that they address the issue. There are key differences between brands and converters we offer, as well as their supplementary services.

National Torque Converter

This type of torque converter was created to operate at peak efficiency during peak hours and demand, while in the same instance, operate with few necessary or fundamental parts. They carry all models in the shop as well from the C195, C245, and C300. To classify what differentiates itself from the other models, this offers maximum torque available during peak hours, reduced engine and maintenance over costs because of its inherent design that stresses function no matter the level of stress on the apparatus, fewer line sizes when pumps are driven by torque converters, maximum flexibility and managing to keep in complete control despite the size of the load or its range, reduction or elimination of shock to the equipment, and it does not overheat on light loads. Further, the design features a single pump system to perform both functions, being chain-driven, so it’s easily adjustable, it is removable as a unit, high capacity flow rate allows for more efficient oil cooling, oil filters can be easily removed, and the pressure and temperature gauges are shock-protected and easily replaced.

Allison Torque Converter

Allison Torque Converters allow for a fully automatic engine transmission and allows for powerful torque and smooth power shifts while making full use of its horsepower. The inherent design allows for full use of a balance between function and raw torque power in a vehicle. These sorts of converters are often found in construction equipment, crane carriers, and not surprisingly the oil field. There is also a wide variety of horsepower for the different models from 300hp to 550hp with a revolutions per minute range of 1800 to 3000 revolutions per minute, or turns per minute.

It comes with its own built-in oil system, charging oil pump, oil cooler, easy mounting drive, standard housing for all engines in horsepower range, greater parts interchangeability which fosters the customer of saving stress should a new part need to be ordered, and greater versatility of installation for any engine.
